This summer, Straitgate High School successfully hosted its much-anticipated holiday program, Vocation Land 2025, from July 28th to August 22nd. The initiative was designed to empower students with practical skills, nurture creativity, and provide a fun-filled learning experience outside the traditional classroom setting.
The program featured a variety of vocational skill tracks, including Knitting & Design, Cooking & Baking, Plumbing, Electrical & Mechanical Works, and an AI & Robotics Tech Lab. Each track gave participants hands-on experience, equipping them with essential life skills and sparking interest in future career pathways.
In addition to skill acquisition, fun activities such as the Hack-a-thon & Pitch Day, Bible Beats & Bubbles, Public Speaking sessions, Arena Games, and Competitive Sports brought excitement and balance to the summer experience. Students not only learned but also showcased their talents, built confidence, and developed leadership qualities in an engaging and supportive environment.
The highlight of the program was the Hack-a-thon & Pitch Day, where students worked in teams to create innovative solutions and present their ideas—demonstrating that with the right guidance, young people can think critically and creatively about real-world problems.
Parents, facilitators, and the school community commended the program for providing students with opportunities that combine academic enrichment, vocational skills, and personal development.
